The ability to manage difficult airways is a critical skill that emergency practitioners must possess. Multiple, complex medications, equipment options, and pathways exist to care for patients in extremis. Specialized training is needed to be able to safely manage emergency airways in these scenarios. The UFCOM-Jacksonville’s Advanced Airway Course is hosted by Emergency Medicine faculty who teach nationally on this subject, and it summarizes the most up-to-date literature and currently accepted guidelines for airway management in the emergency setting. The course is a day-long workshop that is aimed at medical students, residents, fellows, prehospital providers, and advanced practice providers, and will be held at the CSESaR simulation center at the Pavilion on UF Health Jacksonville campus.
