UF Health Jacksonville and Intuitive Health marked a major milestone today in their initiative to bring a unique style of emergency care to Jacksonville, celebrating the construction progress of three hybrid emergency room and urgent care centers.
UF Health Jacksonville, with Dallas-based Intuitive Health, is bringing a new emergency health care concept to Jacksonville. The centers combine the facilities of an emergency room with those of an urgent care center.
Patients will be triaged and sent to which unit best fits their needs.
The city issued a permit Oct. 18 for UF Health to build a free-standing emergency clinic at Dunn Village in Northwest Jacksonville, the second Duval County stand-alone ER approved for the medical center in three weeks.
