About Colleen J Kalynych
Colleen Kalynych, EdD, completed her dissertation work in education and organizational leadership at the University of North Florida. She has a master’s degree in Health Science, also from the University of North Florida. She is the current Director of Educational Development and Research in the Office of Educational Affairs and Director of the Center for Medical Education Research and Scholarship (CREATORS). She is the former director of the Community Pediatrics Community Initiative at the University of Florida College of Medicine – Jacksonville department of pediatrics and past assistant director of the Northeast Florida Area Health Education Center. Dr. Kalynych wrote numerous foundation, federal (HRSA, NIH, AHRQ), and state research grants, and presented at international, national, state and local conferences, and is published extensively in research and medical education scientific journals. Dr. Kalynych specializes in research design, research implementation feasibility, contract budget negotiations, grants management and staffing, and curricular development in regard to medical education. In addition, she instituted the research internship program with the University of North Florida and has mentored over 150 future health care professionals such as physicians, physician assistants, nursing, health care administration and health educators at the undergraduate, graduate post-doctoral levels. Dr. Kalynych holds an additional appointed clinical professor faculty position at the University of North Florida’s Brooks College of Health in the department of public health, where she has been teaching for more than 20 years.
